MALA
This is a very peaceful and picturesque town surrounded by large prickly pear plantations and outlandish volcanoes that rise above the typical white houses in stark contrast.
For a long time in past centuries, Mala and the neighbouring town of Guatiza used to be major exporters of cochineal beetles.
Things to see and do
Church, cochineal beetle museum, strolling through its streets. You can enjoy bathing in the sea at the Mala or Robayna pools, or even visit Charco del Palo or Arrieta only a few kilometres away. You can also enjoy a nice walk to the dam or the Walking Haría trail.
